Tone modality uses electric muscle stimulation (EMS) on the area where it is applied. EMS stimulates muscles to contract in an involuntary fashion, simulating an intense focused workout on the muscle of interest. The Tone device uses an intensity scale that delivers the EMS starting at a level one, and can reach up to a level 50.
